Is it OK to listen to music while meditating?
So I’m gonna try meditation, but i was wondering, is it OK to listen to music while meditating? Cause its usuall done silently. I’de appreciate answers from people experienced in meditating. Also if you know any Books On Meditation that would be cool.
That is a personal choice.
What would be the best way for YOU to relax ?
What type of music is relaxing to YOU ?
Do you have a quiet area to meditate ?
Or do you have background noise such as traffic or noisy neighbors ?
Instead of a book, I would suggest a CD that is for beginner meditation. One with a calming voice to help you relax and walk you through a meditation.
Check out a local UU church. They sometime have group meditation, or will know of a local group that does.
